BAE Systems Hawk
BAE Systems (Hawker Siddeley)
Trainer · Europe
The Hawk is a single-engine advanced jet trainer developed by Hawker Siddeley and later built by BAE Systems. It first flew in 1974 and entered Royal Air Force service in 1976. Rugged, agile and easy to maintain, it is used for advanced pilot training and can also fly light-attack missions, while the upgraded Hawk T2 adds a modern glass cockpit. The Hawk has been exported to nearly 20 countries, the US Navy's T-45 Goshawk carrier trainer was derived from it, and the Red Arrows have long flown red-painted Hawk T1s in their displays.
