The H145 is a twin-engine light utility helicopter developed by Airbus Helicopters (formerly Eurocopter) from the BK117 built jointly by MBB and Kawasaki. Its predecessor, the EC145, first flew in 1999; the improved EC145 T2 with a Fenestron shrouded tail rotor has been delivered as the H145 since 2014, and a five-blade version followed in 2020. With a roomy cabin and rear clamshell doors, it is widely used for air ambulance, police, search and rescue, offshore and VIP transport. The military H145M serves with Germany and other armed forces, and the US Army's UH-72 Lakota is also derived from it, making it one of the best-selling twin-engine light helicopters in the world.
