Transport · Europe

The C-27J Spartan is a twin-engine medium tactical transport developed by Leonardo (formerly Alenia) of Italy from the G.222, fitted with the same engines and six-blade propellers as the C-130J along with modern avionics. Rugged and able to operate from short, unpaved strips, it flies troop and cargo transport, paratroop drops, medical evacuation, search and rescue and firefighting missions. The C-27J is operated by more than a dozen countries including Italy, the United States, Australia, Greece and Slovakia, and the Italian Air Force often shows off its agility with aerobatic displays at airshows.
